I Got a Job!
I found a new role, but before applying I reached out and linked-in and started a chat with the president about his company and what they do. I asked a few questions, and then I brought up I was curious about an open training role. He forwarded me his hiring managers' email and told me to set up a call with her. She is talking to me Saturday.
Before taking the course, the Inside Scoop on LinkedIn for Job Seekers, I didn't do this preliminary connection work on LinkedIn, and I did not get to hiring managers via CEO referrals! It's a much more productive result. I'll be even more thrilled if I get in-the-door; however, it's better progress than I was making on my own.

I received a job offer and I accepted it! It's the "from left field " offer I discussed while interviewing for the CV role. Just so you know, I got suburb feedback regarding my interviews, presentation of my skills and professionalism! Thank you !!!!!

Thank you for all your help last year. I was able to obtain employment. I have been back to a office job for 2 weeks and really like the people. The drive will be better this spring and summer. Thank you. I will continue to learn from your messages that you send to us because we never know when we will be looking again. Have a successful and happy year.

Thank you Katherine! If you would not have helped me connect the dots of my career path, I am not sure I could have made a good argument as to why she should interview me! Again, my deepest appreciation and thanks!

I just accepted the job! LOVED the people there!! Thank you so much Katherine! I listened to your CD and it got me in the right frame of mind for the last 5 hour interview there with the CEO and VP's. Your voice calming and advice is excellent!! I appreciate you leading me to finally be able to tell others about myself!!!

Katherine offered straight-forward, common sense recommendations to enhance my resume, LinkedIn profile and assist with my job search. While holding me accountable, she was never judgmental and always had suggestions for new approaches, as well as kind words of encouragement. I have no doubt that Katherine's good advice and patient support was a critical element in my job search success.

The Key is Confidence
I highly recommend Katherine to anyone in transition. I had the pleasure of attending one of her presentations through The Financial Executive Networking Group, Cleveland, OH Chapter. Her presentation focused on how an individual in career transition is perceived by his or her self and how this self-perception will ultimately, highly impact not only the individual’s career search, but also the perceptions of every person they will encounter along their extremely stressful and trying journey to re-employment.
Katherine personally reached out to me following her presentation. This was an impressive and kind act that truly displayed her genuine enthusiasm, care and concern. Our one-on-one meeting resulted in a renewed fire within my-self to positively attack my task of landing a new opportunity. She offered valuable tools, techniques and advice.
Within a short period of time, I landed an interview with a Weatherhead 100, Crain’s Leading EDGE and NEO Success award winning Northeast Ohio Company. I immediately reached out to Katherine for assistance with preparing for the interview as in Katherine’s own words, “An interview is a terrible thing to waste”. We researched the Company, the CEO, the job requirements and analyzed how I could best present myself as the solution for their problem. Katherine outlined interview techniques and helped construct the all-important first 30 seconds of opening communication. At the time of the interview, I was 100% prepared and radiating confidence. I got the job!
The CEO of the Company told me that he had interviewed over 20 candidates, but “It had to be you”. This comment is absolutely the result of my collaboration with Katherine resulting in my highly polished, highly prepared and highly confident presentation of myself.
It can be very difficult and frustrating to know who to turn to for resume advice, networking, interview preparation and assistance with job searching in general. It is with much admiration and gratitude that I highly recommend Katherine. It’s a tough road out there. I only wish I had the pleasure of meeting her sooner.

I had the privilege of working with Katherine while seeking employment. Initially, I naively assumed that our working relationship would be fairly brief and that I probably would not receive much benefit. I could not have been more wrong! I quickly developed a strong respect for her capabilities as she offered straight-forward, common sense recommendations for enhancing my resume, and LinkedIn profile. She was also readily available when I needed advice on an impromptu basis; including preparations for an upcoming job interview. Katherine's good advice and patient support was a critical element in my job search success.

Follow-up is Critical
I followed up with the hiring manager letting him know I just had a meeting with one of his former customers. I told him that I could use the relationship to help get them back in there. He said he was impressed with my follow-up weeks after the interview and my industry network would be a asset to the company. Turns out that was his largest customer and they built the relationship on one person. When he left they lost the business. Turns out you were right... It is who you know that we help in your job search.
Thanks again,
~Jeff S.
Hired Katherine to help stalled job search
Thank you the advice you gave me on improving my profile. I added some skills, joined some groups, made more connections, tweaked my summary and added a few things to other parts of my profile section. So far, I am getting more views and activity and I also had an interview. That is a positive improvement and I know now fine tuning my profile will be an ongoing process.

Executive Support
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Katherine Burik in a couple of modes over the past several years. First when we were both executives with Saint-Gobain Building Materials Distribution and then most recently as I embarked upon my own search for new career opportunities. As a co-executive, I was always impressed with Katherine’s ability to cut through the clutter, distill business situations to the most salient points and create an actionable plan to deliver comprehensive and valuable results for the company. She developed a first rate HR team and was very effective in her efforts to enact change and engage the entire business, from the most senior leadership to the new front line recruit. Katherine brought and applied her vast experience to the host of challenges facing the business and consistently over delivered on her commitments. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and was a true partner to the business. As a career transition coach and counselor, Katherine once again performed at the highest levels and provided the framework and support to enable me to achieve the desired results. Katherine provided (and still provides) great coaching, insights and perspective. I found these to be invaluable. For my part, I listened to her advice, act upon it and integrated her coaching to elevate my performance. I saw that we were a team in this effort and her coaching, encouragement and constructive feedback enabled me to do much more that I could have ever done on my own…we were (and are) a team. Katherine helped me set my bearings, take inventory, identify gaps, prioritize activities and most importantly create a clear vision of the future I wanted and a plot a course to begin the journey. Just as when we had worked together on an executive team, Katherine’s insights and actions plans were on target, professionally developed and presented and very impactful. Whether you are interested in top notch Human Resources executive talent or an outstanding coach and career counselor, Katherine Burik is your ideal candidate. I recommend her without hesitation and welcome the opportunity to discuss her qualifications and contributions in detail.

Preparing College Grads
“Katherine, thank you for the excellent work you did through The Interview Doctor with our science education interns this year (2010/2011). Your two visits to our campus to work with the fifteen graduating seniors has made an incredible impact on the impression our students have made on the professional community and boosted the students' confidence about their first foray into the career world more than you can possibly imagine. The best part of the whole experience is that each of our undergraduate interns has received at least one call back from their brief introduction at the career fair. None of our MAT students can say that. We have never had this kind of success before. In a time when state hirings are getting tighter, even for science teachers, your guidance and advice has made an incredible difference to this group of young people.
Your professional expertise and the easy and supportive manner in which you share your knowledge has been of immeasurable value ot us, our program, and our students. We sincerely hope you will be able to visit us again in the future. Our students have been encouraged to contact you directly for all their placement needs. Thank you again for all you have done.

Coach and Support
The Interview Doctor was an excellent coach to work with, while I was searching for a new position. She spent numerous hours helping me determine which direction and industry I wanted to focus on. She was excellent at keeping me on track to make sure I was accomplishing what I needed to do on a daily and weekly basis. The Interview Doctor was not afraid to challenge me from time to time to step out of my comfort zone, which lead me to my current job. I also, appreciated he was readily available talk even when we didn’t have a set time. I would highly recommend The Interview Doctor to anyone, whether they are new or tenured in the job market.

As an "experienced" job seeker, in a somewhat limited local market for Insurance Claim Managers, my job search process was much longer than I had anticipated and certainly a challenge at times. I have no doubt that Katherine's good advice, recommendations and patient support was a critical element in my success. I can not imagine a more professional, empathetic, helpful, or genuine person.

Encouragement and Guidance
Judith and I are very grateful for the encouragement and guidance you gave to Laura and Don during their "employment transitions". You empowered them to focus on their strengths and restarted their self confidence. Its fun to hear them pass on what they learned to others. Thank you so much!

I'm grateful for your support!
I have found the most personal growth this year being out-of-work for the first time in my career. It's surprising and humbling to me I've been out of work since June as I never thought that could happen with all my skills and talents, but I have learned there are many others in the same situation that are qualified, deserving, talented, wonderful people also in the same situation..... we are not seeing the economic recovery touted by some. Katherine, YOU are one of the many good people I've found entertainment, encouragement and support and I'm grateful for your support!
